LANE DUNCAN, AIA, AS TRUSTEE

ATLANTA, GA (July, 2008)— Green Habitats Foundation, Inc, a non-profit organization that promotes sustainable building, has named Lane Duncan, AIA, as a Trustee.
In his role as a Trustee for Green Habitats Foundation, Inc, Duncan will advise on sustainable design and building to conserve water and energy. “We are honored to have Lane Duncan join Green Habitats Foundation as a Trustee and to have his help to reach out to education institutions,” says John Lie-Nielsen, CEO and Founder of Green Habitats Foundation, Inc.
Duncan was a full time faculty member at Georgia Tech, coordinating and teaching a wide range of graduate and undergraduate design studios, one of which was privately funded by Green Habitats Foundation, Inc. He has served as a graduate thesis advisor and taught seminars on Theories of Ethics and Aesthetics in Architecture. Duncan now works in a private practice focusing primarily on residential and institutional projects in the southeastern U.S., as well as serving as a design consultant for national and architectural firms. He holds a Bachelor of Architecture from Georgia Tech and a Master of Design Studies in Theory and Criticism from the GSD at Harvard.
Green Habitats Foundation, Inc, was named Steward of the Solar Decathlon House that was designed, built and operated by Georgia Tech students and faculty and participated in an International competition between 20 Universities on the National Mall in Washington, DC, taking sixth place.
